Dr. Farzin Shakib founded ACUSIM Software in 1994 and has served as Chief Executive Officer since its inception. He continues to be the lead technologist of ACUSIM Software, the developer of AcuSolve. Under his leadership, ACUSIM Software has become a premier name for CFD solver solutions.
As one of the leading US experts in the field of computational fluid dynamics, Dr. Shakib has spent the past twenty six years developing CFD packages, eighteen of which has been in commercial software. He has extensive knowledge and experience in fluid mechanics and finite element analysis, including high performance computing and fluid/structure interaction.
Dr. Shakib received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, under the advisorship of Professor Thomas J.R. Hughes. Prior to ACUSIM, he worked at Centric Engineering Systems and NASA Ames Research Center.
Steve Cosgrove has been with ACUSIM Software since February 2004 and leads ACUSIM Software's global sales and technical support team. He has over 19 years of experience in computational fluid dynamics in both engineering and sales. Mr. Cosgrove started his career in 1989 at Knolls Atomic Power Lab (KAPL Inc) and was a senior engineer in the CFD group when he left in 1999 having acquired experience in a wide range of competing CFD products. Prior to ACUSIM Software, he was a Product Sales Manager at ANSYS ICEMCFD and also worked in the STAR-CD agency group at CD-ADAPCO.
Steve received his MS in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University in 1989 and performed an extensive amount of coursework and research in Discontinous Galerkin Methods at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the mid 1990's.
Shing Pan joined ACUISM Software in February 2008 and is in charge of ACUSIM Software's Corporate and Product Marketing, and Strategic Relationships. Ms. Pan has over 16 years of experience in high-performance computing and visualization. Most recently, she was co-founder and Vice President of Marketing and Business Development of ModViz, a parallel computing and GPU virtualization software company which was since acquired by a leading graphics chip manufacturer. Prior to ModViz, Ms. Pan was a Senior Marketing Manager and Director of Market Development for SGI's emerging markets - ranging from manufacturing design and analysis, cluster computing to cluster visualization. She had successfully created and launched SGI into new markets. During her tenure at SGI, Ms. Pan had also been responsible for the industry marketing strategy of SGI's then $500 million dollar general manufacturing market.
Ms. Pan has a MS in Mechanical Engineering from Northern Illinois University and a MBA from Cornell University.
