High Fidelity CFD Techniques for Wind Turbine Modeling

Date and Time

  • Tuesday, December 15, 2009
  • 9:00 am - 10:00 am, Pacific Standard Time (12:00 pm - 1:00 pm, Eastern Standard Time)

Join us for a complimentary 1 hour web seminar where our featured speakerswill present advanced, high fidelity CFD modeling techniques to predict andanalyze wind turbine aerodynamics, loads, wake propagation, aeroacoustics, aeroelasticity and fluid/structure interaction (FSI).

Applications of these technologies will be presented on simulations rangingin size from simple wind tunnel tests to modern utility scale rotors. Inaddition to the detailed blade/rotor/tower simulations, state-of-the-arttechniques for analyzing the power output of candidate wind park locationswill be presented.

The benefits of using CFD simulation in the wind energy design process willbe discussed. The wealth of insight provided by the CFD simulations givesdesigners and engineers the opportunity to rapidly investigate advanceddesign concepts and establish the improvements in efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness that are required to propel wind power technologyinto the future.

All simulations utilize and showcase ACUSIM Software's premier finiteelement based CFD flow solver, AcuSolve. AcuSolve's robustness, speed, andaccuracy enable the use of advanced CFD simulation capabilities to increasethe reliability and profitability of wind power in the United States.
